We're really feeling a little snakebit as far as the weather for the last couple of weeks....well, the whole trip, really! Bad storms in Alabama, tornado sirens, where we just missed the serious destruction, then rain in Kansas, then wind, and for the last week and a half, a combination of cold temperatures, rain, a snow flurry, hail, and high winds.. Today, it is only supposed to be 57 for the high, and thunderstorms and winds of 20-30 mph on through the night.....
Notice the pink and white spots on the map too. That is snow!!! It's almost June 1st!! The mountain peaks are pretty with a mantle of snow, but jeez, its 94 today back home in Elkton!!!
We rested up yesterday, made a Wal Mart trip to reprovision, worked on trip planning for the Montana leg, and may stay in today also, based on the weather report- Not supposed to be nice again until Thursday or Friday...
We leave Monument after a 9 day stay on Thursday morning- headed to the Gunnison Colorado area, and Curecanti National Recreation area- supposed to be a beautiful if somewhat hilly climb over.
