Los Angeles Day 3

Today, we drove over to, and then through the Joshua Tree National Park.  We drove probably 350 miles or so, but it was a beautiful day, and we got to visit 4 different visitor centers, and got a total of 7 stamps!!!

We first started at the Black Rock Nature Center, which is located at a Campground within the park.

From there, we headed over to the Visitor Center in the town of Joshua Tree, and got a couple of stamps there.

Then, we headed over to the town of 29 Palms, where the headquarters building for the park is located.  Very nice center.  Got two stamps there.

From there, we drove about 40 miles through the park itself, through some really awesome scenery.  The road wound through a major valley surrounded by big mountains, and was just beautiful.

The scenery is hard to describe.  Lots of rock formations, lots of hills, desert, cholla cactus , and of course Joshua Trees.

This was the 8th park of the trip, and we were very successful with stamps also. Very happy with our trips.  Saw lots of super things.  Got tons of pins.  I'll post a photo of the new pin board when I get home.

Tomorrow, I had originally planned to stop by 3 baseball clubs for hats balls or pins, but they are out of season, and probably won't have their pro shops open.

We will sleep in, then head on down to Menifee to visit with Jerry Davis and then on down to Carlsbad for our visit with Mom.  Taking her out to dinner tomorrow night.
