De Soto National Memorial

Scooted on over to De Soto National Memorial in the Bradenton area today, a very nice spot right on the bay.  They had an excellent 22 minute film, and I did the nature trail walk of about a mile or so around the peninsula.  Very nice, but it was about 56 degrees and very windy!

The site is right on the bay, allegedly where De Soto may or may not have landed and set up camp.
Here is the visitor's center. They had a very nice volunteer fella who provided me with a lot of information.  Got a pin and some postcards here, as well as the one Passport stamp.
