A way to show off the baseball collection, or at least part of it-
After consulting with neighbor Frank Schmidt, the neighborhood wood go to guy, we came up with a contraption of a 2 x 4, drilled with recesses to put the balls in, backed with a 1 x 2 to keep them from falling off, then stained the front to match the book case- Pretty nifty solution to a long standing issue of how to display some of the ball collection- Total outlay was under $4.00 for materials. Thanks Frank!
Close up view In this shot, from left to right, the Portland Maine Sea Dogs, the Daytona Beach Fl Cubs, and the New York Yankees, which was from a Grapefriut League game in Tampa last March.
Here's the long view, The 2 x 4 fit flush on top of the cabinet, and with the stain we had, it looks like just an addition- Got 29 balls on display. We may make a shelf for the soffitt above the bookcase now to display 29 more, and may double deck it for future displays. Really like how it turned out. The shadow boxes on the right hand side have the pin collections, there are 4 more besides those, and on the left on the wall, is the pin collection for all the minor league teams we've been to so far- which is 50 different teams. Thanks too, to Brandon and Cooper for letting me keep the balls we got!
