We had a full day today, 4 National Parks, and a total of 12 cancellations for the Passport book.
Started out by a 45 mile drive up to Ft Caroline National Monument, which actually is a part of the larger Tumucian Ecological Preserve- On the way to another unit of the park, we got a surprise ferry ride on the St John's River ferry, on our way over to Kingsley Plantation- we also stopped in at the Ribault Club, which is yet another unit of the park. From there, we chugged up I-95 to St Mary's Georgia, a beautiful coastal town, and also the home of the visitor's center for the Cumberland Island National Seashore. We opted not to take a 45 minute boat ride out to the actual island- We stopped over at a Subway for lunch- then we hit St Simon's Island Georgia, a beautiful town, home to the St Simon's Island lighthouse, and a nice museum there, then we spent about an hour or so at an large outdoor antique market- they had some very nice things there- then we went up to Fort Federica National Park, and then we drove by downtown Brunswick
Georgia, not much there, then finally we crased into the motel by about 4:30 or so. Whew! Tomorrow will be a lazy day back to St Augustine, probably stopping by Jacksonville on the way in- we'll also stop by Camping World to give them a kick in the butt.
