Doing the Charleston today, had a terrific but tiring day!

Today was for Charleston.  We got up early, headed to Chick Fil A for breakfast.  Yummy.  Then, we decided to head right to Patriot's Point to catch the boat to Ft. Sumter, which I thought left at 9:30, but turns out it didn't leave until 10:45.  No worries, Cooper and I managed to climb all over the submarine on display as well as clamber all over the USS Yorktown, an air craft carrier on permanent display.  I'd been to Patriot's Point probably 4 times before, but it's always fun to go through the ships.  We caught the boat to Ft. Sumter, takes a half hour of cruising to get there, then you're on the facility for about an hour, then a half hour back.  Got stamps, cards, and pins from there, but didn't get a Ft Sumter pin, they were out.  From there, we headed over to Ft. Moultrie, and visited there, got stamps and pins, and also got a Ft. Sumter pin!  They also had a stamp for the Charleston Sullivan's Island Lighthouse, which is evidently part of the park also.  From there, it was around 2 pm, so we boogied on over to Wendy's for lunch, then headed downtown for a walking shopping tour of the Old Charleston Slave Market. Bette found some things to purchase- and Coop got himself a Ben and Jerry's to boot.  From there, we headed on over to Liberty Square, which is also an outlet for a NPS stamp, actually three of them, and got some pins as well.  After that, Coop and I scurried over to the SC Aquarium to take in a 4-D presentation of the movie Happy Feet, which was really, really cool.  We both really loved that.  By then (now) it was about 4:15, and we headed back to the room to watch college football.  Bette crashed on the bed, and is snoring away.  Coop and I are getting ready to head down to the hottub for a good soak to ease our tired muscles from climbing ladders on ships all day, and climbing around the forts, and walking up and down the market.  We're going to head out for something for dinner later somewhere.  We plan to wake up earlyish tomorrow and head back to Greenwood, stopping by Congaree Swamp National Park on the way home, and also possibly Newberry to see Deanna and her family.  I'll do some individual blogs about where we went today after swimming.
