Part of the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park is the Seaman's Bethel House, which was built in 1832, "up the hill" from the water. It was built for the seamen in port, to give them a place to connect with other sea farers. The pulpit as you can see is very interesting, an old ship's prow. The walls have rememberances of ships that were lost at sea, and thier crews.
