After breakfast, we headed down the road about 25 miles to the Penobscot (River) Tower Observatory, which is basically a tower in a bridge you can ride up to the top and look out. There are three of these in the US. This one is 440 feet to the top. Today was the perfect day to go up. The middle photo shows the top of one of the towers that is the Observatory. You drive in to the bottom of the tower, then take an elevator to the top. We had to go seperately, since we had Buster, and he wasn't allowed to go in the elevator, no surprise there, but we were notified at the entry gate that it was a State Law in Maine that in a state park, you can't leave a dog unattended in a car. So we had to go up seperately. Bette chickened out, and didn't go to the top level.
