We left Nappanee this morning about 0930- after thanking the Gulfstream crew for an excellent job of making the coach whole.. and headed over to Aunt Skips. That wasn't the original plan, but when do we ever follow the original plan!!!!
For today, 259 miles, 9:41 total drive time. Moving time was 5:58. We were stopped for 3:43. Average speed was only 43.8 moving, Max was 65.7. The GPS was absolutely determined to take every back road it could find today, much to Bette's consternation. We did spend 14 miles on I-69, but the rest of the time was on red roads, blue roads, and for a large part, county roads, 12 foot wide roads, with no shoulders, narrow bridges, lots of construction, and Bette offering any number of guidances, threats, teeth clenches, and so forth. We made it in one piece, to Aunt Skips. We orginally thought we might visit the R.B. Hayes Presidential Museum in Fremont, Ohio, but couldn't get in through the skinny gate, so we passed. We also blew off a side trip to Oberlin College, and made a beeline for Aunt Skips, and arrived at just 6 pm, in time to run out to Bob Evans for a delicious dinner. Skip looks fit and well, and we are looking forward to spending the next few days with her.
