Another view of the leaves, they are beautiful, and Kippy, Dan and Bette choosing ice cream at Spanky's in downtown Salisbury
Today, after lunch, we headed South on 52 for 21 miles and revisited a familiar stop for us when we're in this area, the town of Salisbury, NC. We started out with a visit to one of our favorite shops, an old timey hardware store called Okey-Dokey. There we found Bette's favorite candy, Mary Janes, and we purchased a pound of that for future use. We then crossed the street to one of our favorite used book stores, now known as Laughing Sky books. I found a volume of old FD Roosevelt speeches and letters for 2.50, so I was a happy camper. We then went to Spanky's which is a favorite ice cream shop, where you see Dan Kippy and Bette making choices up on top. We then went to a huge antique store that is located in an old downtown Belk store on three floors, had some good stuff but nothing that spoke to us. We then drove over to check out the local Goodwill store, and there Bette found some glass sets that she wants to do some craft work with as a future project. That was all of $3.00. So all in all, it was a fairly cheap day.
Back to the motor home, then we took a quick nap, and then over to Dan and Kippy's for a delicious dinner of chicken dumplings and beans, while watching the news of the night, and our daily dose of game shows.
Tomorrow, were planning on heading up to Winston Salem, with a visit to Old Salem planned, plus whatever comes up. Think we'll start with a nice brunch on the way up.
Beautiful weather day- and nice relaxing too. Loving the lifestyle, promise!!!
Hi Cooper and Brandon.... See you Sunday
