Dr, Lal sez...

Bette and I had a twin visit with the neurosurgeon yesterday. She got a green light, her wound site is healing nicely, and while she is still fighting the effects of the c-diff virus that she caught, we are thinking that she will be ok.

As for as my back, I have stenosis, a narrowing of the spinal something, which is causing the nerves to be pinched, which is causing the nerve pain. The choices range from live with it, to try shots, to try one of two medicines, to surgery, with no more than a 50% guarantee that it will totally work. Bette's seemed to have worked way beyond expectations, so that's the deal.

Shots we've tried before, with not much success, so were currently trying pill no 1, Lyrica.

Actually after the first one, it seems to have had an effect on the tingling feet. We'll see.

Supposed to be on Lyrica for 30 days, if that doesn't do the trick, another for 30 days, then its live with it or have surgery, which puts us into January, which is when we expected to be back on the road again..... Obviously the medicine will have to do the job!

Spent a lot of the day on Lander campus, catching up on things, and turning in my sick laptop to the IT doctor to take it home over the weekend to see if he can diagnose the ills. No virus suspected, but it keeps freezing up, and the UBS ports don't work, and so forth.

Leaving now to get home and get the Cooper Man so we can go see Ware Shoals whip up on Calhoun Falls Charter tonight. Homecoming too.

Think tomorrow, we'll go to a Lander soccer game.
