NP Julie called in today with the results of of the MRI today. Seems I have some bad stenosis going on, which is not a good thing, and may be facing surgery. The nerves are compromised, I have been told, and that explains my tingling feet and the loss of use of most of my left leg, and the fact that my thighs are asleep about half the time. Next comes a visit with our friendly local neurosurgeon, Dr Lal, who just did Bette's surgery three weeks ago, which was totally successful, save the super bug that she caught. I had a laminectomy about 18 years ago, so I know the surgery. Maybe its scar tissue causing the problem. Any way, off to Dr Lal we go. I also have a yearly visit tomorrow with my optometrist for a diabetes effect follow up. I had an unbelieveably hard time when I was diagnosed originally with my vision. Went through four different prescriptions in three months, due to my eyeballs contracting, was the way it was explained. Oh well, get these out of the way, it's why we're off the road until Christmas!!!!!
Hopefully, we won't be totally wiped out with the current financial mess and we'll be able to follow through with things as planned, so far so good, except for the nest egg shrinking about 15% in value just now.
Weather is starting to be very fallish, morning temps are in the high 50's, and we may only be in the 70's for highs next week. Loving it. Bette got the green light today to start driving again, so we may do 4 day weekenders to go leaf peeping or down to the coast in October and November.
