Successful Surgery, We think, at Self Regional

1439- Bette is snoozing away here in room 410 at Self Regional in Greenwood. She went under the knife at around 0840, and came out at about 1130 or so. The Doctors took out her hardware from her previous fusion, all except for one screw that had stripped, and then did a lamenectomy on the next highest vertabre. As of now, she feels great considering, has minimal pain, (maybe that's morphine induced,) but says she can feel her feet for the first time in seven years, and no tingling! That is probably due to the fact that they found a cyst while they were operating that hadn't shown up on the MRI, and they felt that was what was causing her nerve issues. For now, anyway, the decision to have the operation seems to be a good one, so far.
