A rainy, lazy Sunday

Got up fairly early, Dan and Kippy came over for eggs and sausage, Kippy bought terrific biscuits. Then we drove up to Summerton, to tour the city and check out the Summerton High School, which is famous in civil rights history, in that it was one of the schools involved in the Brown v. Board of Education case in 1954. We then headed on over to tour the towns of Santee and Eloree, not much going on there, Eloree was literally closed for Sunday. Dan and Kippy called and we met them at the locally famous Summerton Diner, which used to be in its heyday when Highway 301 was the main drag from New York to Florida back in the day, then I-95 was built and the town dried up, back in 1975 or so. But the diner has prevailed, and we had terrific local cheeseburgers and perfect old timey onion rings.
Then we came back to the coach and crashed, read papers, watched the Olympics, and dozed off, then dinner at Dan and Kippy's. We're off at 0830 or so in the morning to head on home, so Bette can do her Dr visit on Tuesday to see if we are going to the the back surgery. Rained heavily today, and its real muggy now.
