Out on one of the 9 islands that make up the Island Group of Isles of Shoals, there is this rather large one-time resort, then in the early 1900's it was purchased by a church to be used for their summer retreats. It is serviced by generators to provide electric power, and there is awell for water, we were told.
While we cruised by, you could
see lots of college age kids
there, some were unloading a ship that was delivering supplies at the dock, into a truck, so there is gas power on the island. Other than that, it's fairly rustic. What a way to beat the summer heat!
