For some reason, the Kindle wasn't holding a charge recently. We tried three different chargers, and I was about ready to send it back to Amazon, when this morning I checked the online site, and it said to try it again in another outlet, which I did, and it seemed to hold the charge. We'll see. I'm starting to really get into Kindle, and enjoying it.
Update: Correction to fixed. Right after I wrote this, the screen went back to battery dead. So I checked online, and got the 800 number (well 866 number) for Kindle repair and spent about 10 minutes with a nice young man in Washington State named JD trying various tricks to wake the Kindle up, to no avail. Not to worry, he is overnighting, that's right, overnighting me a new unit to replace this one. Now that is good customer service! Seems it was a "known" issue. One of my pre-New Years resolutions is to use the Kindle more this year. Its like everything other electronic that folks own today it seems, we buy gadgets, and don't learn all the features, or loose interest, or whatever. I know I have a perfectly good digital movie camera sitting in a bag on the shelf in the closet too, got to use that this year coming up also.
