The day got off to a good start- we were able to move to a super spot first thing at 8:30. Perfectly level, full dish, super close to bathhouse, and 500 feet from Dan and Kippy Kingston.
Boys went off to the putt putt green, and we made a trip to the hardware and Giant food store. Thanks to Dan's help, we now have a perfectly functioning Cooper scooter, except that the park has told the boys that they can't use the scooters. But, it is really fixed, for a grand total of $1.75.
As luck would have it, we noticed a mobil repairman in the park, and got him to stop by and help us solve the air conditioning problem we suddenly developed turned out the thermostat was bad. Both Bette and I had told each other that the thermostat wasn't probably working, and we had told Shipps that it wasn't, but we were able to determine that in fact, it was broken. Anyway, the front air conditioner is now working just fine.
In addition, we had managed to damage the floor of Bette's closet, by overloading storage on the floor. That, plus a rather weak design had caused the drawer frame to pull out from the wall, plus the stress we placed on the floor caused it to buckle. The repairman team, a gang of two fellows and a young lady, were quite competent, and made terrific repairs, and now the floor is nice and re-supported, and the slide frames are back in like they are supposed to be. All for $86.00. I'll be talking to Gulf Stream warranty about those charges.
Dan and Kippy had us over for a wonderful fried chicken dinner, and the boys ate as though it was their last meal. Man that was good.
At 7- the boys and I headed over to Hershey Park for a preview night, which means we can enter the park at 7:30 pm for 2and a half hours in addition to our admission tomorrow. The boys had a total blast, even though it was sprinkling rain. The cool weather was welcome, and we ducked the serious storm action.
Tomorrow is more Hershey Park, at least for three hours or so, depending on the weather, and then we should be back here for lunch and swimming. That's the plan at least. Bette and Kippy are going shopping, so it will be a good day.
I'll post pictures of Hershey Park tomorrow- wifi is a little spotty at the site, so I may have to go down to the family center to get a better signal to post the pictures.
