September 8th - Made it to Menifee!

Successfully made the drive to Menifee at Enchanted Lakes Thousand Trails.  Total trip, 76.0 miles, max speed 61 miles, mov avg. 30, Total time: 3:27.  Lots of under 10 mph on the Interstates.  Started out cool this morning, but as you can see, it will get to 105 today! Everything on the coach worked- we'll see how it turns out- except the new cord we bought, which we will have fixed in Quartzite Az. in late Sept.

Our site, 205. full hook up, and we have 30 amp.

We headed out to Wal Mart for provisions, and stopped at McDonald's for breakfast: had oatmeal....

While at Wal Mart, we got a smaller trashcan, and some smaller tubs to store the sewer hoses.

On the way to Wal Mart we saw this shrine, for Elizabeth Vera:
Two Hemet women were killed and at least four others were injured Friday morning in a crash at the intersection of Domenigoni Parkway and the 79 just south of Winchester on Friday, authorities said.
Elizabeth Vera, 31, and Joan Hoffenberg, 61, were both pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Riverside County Coroner’s Office news release issued more than 12 hours after the crash occurred around 10 a.m.
The road’s condition, slick after days of rain, likely contributed to the crash, Sgt. Eric Nolte said Friday.
California Highway Patrol Officer Darren Meyer said the driver in a Nissan Titan pickup, Reynaldo Rivera, 54, of Winchester, was northbound on the 79 at about 10 a.m. when he tried to make a right-hand turn onto Domenigoni. The Nissan failed to make the turn and struck the concrete median on Domenigoni and then began to roll, Nolte said at the scene.
“Basically, the driver was going too fast for the turn,” Meyer said.
The Nissan struck a 1995 Chevy Blazer stopped in the left-turn lane of Domenigoni to turn south on the 79, and then collided with a 1995 Honda Accord in a westbound lane. The Accord was forced into a Chevrolet pickup at the intersection.
The drivers of the Accord and the Blazer – both adult women – were killed. Rivera and a passenger and two passengers in the Blazer were hospitalized, the CHP said.
The driver of the Chevrolet pickup, Bradley Hasseler, 29, of Temecula, said he was not injured, Meyer said.
Here's a view of how we travelled most of the day! That's five lanes at 12 mph!
