July 6th on to Louisiana!

Today, on to Slidell and Natchitoches La.  334 miles, Max 69 mph, moving avg. 55 mph  mostly interstates, Total time for trip 7:20.  Avg. fuel consumption 8.2 mpg, fuel used: 39 gal.  We filled up at a Petro and paid 3.119 a gallon and that cost 130.35.

Went to the Southeast La. Refuge Complex, and got 8 blue goose stamps, a record!  When I arrived, the building was locked up, grrrr.  I had missed this stop on the last trip.

Next, up to Natchitoches, which the GPS took me absolutely the wrong, long way, and I called the National Fish Hatchery, and the ranger was kind enough to meet me there and give me the stamp!

Then, I tried for the Cane Creole NHP HQ, but failed to locate it.  As it is only open Mon-Fri, guess I'll have to catch it next time. 

Plans tomorrow are to visit 3 Cane Creole Stops, then head up to Shreveport to visit a NWR spot.
