Here is our trip for today:
Supposed to be brutally hot today, maybe 102 or so. Had to get up at 2am last night to turn the generator on for the air conditioning. It was 85 at 2 am!
Liking our pace so far. Not big drives, and breaking it up.
W'e arrived ok, but had a struggle finding the park. The GPS very stubbornly took me to the wrong place, and Bette and I had discussions about my driving ability vs her map skills.
But, we arrived safely. Had to unhook and back up a couple of times, but we are very happy with our campsite. Handicapped access, walking distance to showers, 50 amp, got 3 channels on the front tv, and full sat on the back tv. No sewer, but we will dump on the way out.
Tale of the gps: Total miles today: 59.8 max speed 67, moving Avg 44 mph, Total travel time 2:47 Fuel consumption 7.0 mpg used: 8 gals. We filled up at a Chevron: 40 gals at 2.999 a gal for 122.10
We went to the Ft Selden SHP, just a mile down the road. Got a patch and 3 stamps!
Tomorrow, we will run down to Las Cruces for 4 stops. N Mexico State Bookstore, and some other Trail stops.
