June 24th 2 Trail of Tears stops today.

Plan for today is to hit 2 Trail of Tears NHT stops:  Red Clay State Park in Cleveland TN, for 5 stamps, then The Cherokee Removal Location in Birchwood, TN. then, drop over to Benton which will be a new county for me, then head home. All told, looks like a 127 mile day.

Update, I wound up being 0 for 2 on my visits today.  Red Clay has changed their hours, and weren't open until 1 pm today, and Cherokee removal is closed on Sunday, which was my bad.
Got back to the coach around noon, so we decided to head on down to Anniston, after stopping at Little River Canyon NPRES.  GPS took us a screwy way, which by the way, they also did for
Red Clay SP.  It had the address correct, but missed the actual site.  For Little River, I missed the Canyon Center, which is where the stamps were.  I did manage to get a couple of Ranger Badges, which I will send to Jill Leverett.  Got 2 of the alleged 6 stamps there, plus a pin!  Which I didn't have before.  For tonight, we are at Camp Wal Mart at a very big Wal Mart.  so we will be fine.

Some photos from here:

Bette drove behind me in the Fit.  May try to get it repaired here in Anniston.  Problem may be the shop may not have the bracket in stock.  Birmingham may be better for that.  And we are a day ahead of schedule

Coming in to Alabama, we stopped at a rest stop, and good thing we did, because there was a dump station, which we took advantage of!  Also got lots of travel stuff.

At Canyon Center, we got a pin, 2 stamps,

Tomorrow, we shall do park #310, the Freedom Riders NM, and hit a NWR, then we shall head up to Birmingham, staying in a Wal Mart to save camping fees.
Few plates today as well:
