June 21st Got most of NC side of Great Smoky Mts NP

Today, I got most of the NC side of Great Smoky Mountains NP.  First stop was Clingman's dome. Last time I was there was several years ago with Paul Whitman on a prisoner pick up.
Stupid me, I forgot to fill the tank, and almost ran out of gas!  Had to wait almost 2 hours for a guy to bring me 5 gals of gas, then paid and tipped him.  Thanks ole Cornbread! Then, as luch would have it, I got to Oconaluftee VC, and got several stamps there.  Then, the Museum of the
Cherokee Indian, for a Trail of Tears stamp, Then to the Swain County Historical Museum, for 3 more stamps.  10 total stamps for the day.  According to the Garmin, we did 154.1 miles today, total travel time 5:54.  Max speed 64 mph, Mov Avg 32 mph, overall Avg 26 mph.  Again due to congestion in the cities, 35 mph speed limit in the park, and it was raining and misty all day.

While here at Oconaftee, saw these wild turkeys...

While at Cherokee, I got to see 3 markers, plus 1 out of town a bit.

Tomorrow we are planning to go to a Knoxville Wal Mart, unhook, then go to the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge, then down to Charleston TN. for a trail of tears stop, then on down to Chattanooga and Staying at Camping World (Shipps) for 3 days.
