Left a bit early, 0745, then arrived at Hendersonville Wal Mart to park, then headed over to Flat Rock, to visit Carl Sandburg NHS. Right next to there was the Flat Rock Playhouse, where we met Nedra Simpson, who used to be the box office manager at the Newberry Opera House. There was a memorial there to a Ranger who lost his life at the HQ building:
Then up to a Wal Mart in Asheville, then 2 stops at the Blue Ridge Parkway: The Headquarters Building, where I was told they had no stamps and the Main Visitors Center, and the Folk Art Building as well.
Then, to the campground in Dandridge, where I took a wrong turn, and broke the attachment bar for the Blue Ox. That was an $895 bill before, hopefully, we can just get the broken shear pin replaced this time, problem is, I am scheduled out until July !
Tomorrow, I am planning to visit the Tennessee Smokies ballpark, and get a stamp, and a new ball and pin since they have a new logo. Then, a long day planned visiting the Tennessee portions of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Might be hot today.
Tomorrows plans are to do the North Carolina portions of the park, and hit a few Trail of Tears parts as well.
