July 9th Newburyport revisit and on to Gloucester.

I hit plan today, left Moody about 0830, cruised back on down to Newburyport, arriving about 0930.  It was a half hour before the first stop, so I did a walking tour of Water Street, then went up to shop downtown, then returned to the Historical Maritime Museum for the 4 stamps they have for Essex NHA, plus this time I did the museum tour.  Pretty impressive!

Then, I headed on down to the Joppa Flats nature center, which was closed the last visit, got a pin there-  then on down to Gloucester.  Did drive byes on several sites in Newbury and Rowley, including the Dole Little House, the Newbury Marker The Rowley Burial Ground Marker, and the Clam Box restaurant, which is on the Odyssey list.

Got to Gloucester in plenty of time, visited a couple of locations walked the waterfront park for a bit, went to a Cape Ann History museum, got a lighthouse stamp, then walked downtown looking for a toy boat, came across a store that had a backpack on sale to replace the one I had for 20 years or so that had broken zippers, for 1995 Never did find a boat.

Then, a 2.75 hour light house cruise, which was terrific, saw 6 lights, but forgot to get the #@$!!^% lighthouse stamps!  Have to drive back and get them now, maybe on Saturday.
Also stopped at a neat display, called Maritime Gloucester, which told the story of how the Maritime industry had shaped and molded Gloucester since the 1600's.  Also saw one of the Tuna boats that is featured on the show Big Tuna on TLC.

Post details tomorrow

Another development, my I phone went completely dead for some reason, won't take a charge- dead.  Going to Verizon tomorrow, for another change of schedule.
