July 9th A grand Gloucester Light House Tour!

Spent about 2.75 hours on a terrific lighthouse boat tour yesterday, around Cape Ann, Mass. Saw 6 lights, well 7 actually, because Thatcher Island has twin lights.

Started at Gloucester, right away was 10 lb. Island Light, then out to the harbor entrance, for the Dog Bar Breakwater light and the Eastern Point Light as well, then out to Thatcher Island for the twin lights, then by Straitsmouth Island for its light, the around to Wigwam Point for Annisquam light.  Then, stupid me, I forgot to get my passport book stamped!  I'll have to go down again to take care of that little matter.

Also while in town, got to a couple of museums, the Mariner's Monument, shopped on Main Street, but didn't find a toy boat.   Terrific day-  well spent!

First was 10 lb. Island Light, right as we got underway:

Next, the Dog Bar Breakwater light, I tried to drive out to it, but there were signs all over saying private property, but there were lots of people on the light-

Right next to it, the Eastern Point Light,

Then over to Thatcher Island, which has 2 lights, one of which is not operable:

The "left twin"  It's working

The right twin- not working
Then, over to Straitsmouth Island Light:

Last stop was the Annisquam Light:
