June 29th A fun mural and a new statue find in Newburyport

I was walking downtown Newburyport yesterday, and came across this mural painted on a wall that I had not seen before-  depicted the 1880's town.

This is one of the fishing/sailing dories that is similar to the one I saw at Lowell's Boat Works over in Amesbury-

Over at Brown's square in town, I saw this new for me statue of William Lloyd Garrison-  the "Great Liberator."

1805-1879
Garrison the Liberator
Side 1 Presented by William H. Swasey July 4 1893
Side 2  I solicit no man’s praise. I fear no man’s censure. The Liberty of a People. Is the gift of God and Nature
Side 3  Neither God nor the World will judge us by our Professions. But by our practices.

Side 4  I am in earnest-  I will not equvocate- I will not excuse- I will not retract a single inch and I will be heard
