March 17th Over to Lakeland, and a reunion!

Got up early and left around 9 or so for the 31 miles over to Lakeland-  Did a hour or so tour of the city, hit 10 marker/National Register sites, then headed out to Joker Marchant Stadium to catch the Tigers vs Nationals.  the Nationals won 6-4.  The starting pitchers were Justin Verlander and Stephen Strasburg- so it was an exciting match up.  

 I was met at the game by Ashley Bremer Fiquette, and her daughter Mikela.  Ashley was an early buddy when I was a school safety officer, and has done well for herself.  She is thinking about going back to school at Lander Nursing on line!  It was great catching up with them.
