May 28th Had a dentist appointment, so might as well squeeze in a few markers....

Bette had an appointment this morning with her RA doctor, so she left out early, and I had a noon appointment with Christine for a cleaning, so I planned a quick trip to near-byes.

Originally planned to stop at the Florida East Coast Railroad buildings, then the Dentists office, then Markland, the home of Flagler College's President, Then a marker for Zora Neale Hurston, then to the campus of Murray Jr. High, which in its earlier life was the other Black High School in town, built to defeat "seperate but equal."

Along the way, I screeched into a marker not on my lists, at 545 W. King Street, the Mt Horeb AME lodge, and I also got a roadside shrine.

Also while at the Dentist's Office, I noticed in a magazine a display about St Augustine's 450 Years of the African American Experience, at the Visitor Information Center downtown, so that will be added as a stop for sure.
