Wednesday, June 8th Almo Idaho to Twin Falls, then a run up to Craters of the Moon

We rolled out of Cities of Rock National Preserve in Almo Idaho this morning at about 830 this morning, with a big change of plans...

We first made a trip of about 85 miles over to the Flying J at Twin Falls, Idaho.
Beautiful scenery, up over a mountain range then down into a big valley when we got to I-84.  It was very cloudy, spitting rain, and temps about 50 when we arrived at the Flying J.

We parked in the truck lot, then unhooked the car, and Bette and I drove about 85 miles over to Craters of the Moon National Park and Preserve, which counts as two park visits for my total..

We decided to drive this in the Malibu, and save about 150 miles in the motor home, so we did.  Got two stamps and a pin at the site, which is home to several volcanic lava flows, very impressive.

We got back to Twin Falls, and did two touristy things:  first we stopped at the Perrine Bridge, which is a big bridge 450 feet over the Snake River, and is pretty awesome....
There are overlooks and parking at either side of the bridge, so we parked and took several shots:

From there, we went to Shoshone Falls, which is billed locally as bigger than Niagra Falls, and was beautiful to see:

Then, we went to the local mall, and shopped around, and then went to Golden Corral for a nice dinner, we're back now at Flying J crashing for the night.
