Red Sox win, 8-4

We met the bus this morning promptly at 0920, (39 folks made the tour) and off we went to Boston. The bus dropped us off a block and a half from our entrance on Yawkey Way, and we headed on in for batting practice. The bottom shot shows Cooper waiting for his ball, either by home run, bounce in, or having it thrown to him by one of the "catchers." Turns out he missed a couple of totally close opportunities, simply because he was too short to catch the throw/bounce. Not to worry, a very nice fellow standing next to him handed him a ball that he had earlier caught. So, our day was made. We then caught some lunch, (it was a 1:30 game.) and then headed up to our seats, which were two rows below the top row of the outfield. The view above shows the crowd reaction just after David Ortiz crushed a huge home run in the bottom of the first inning.

This says it all. A kid hoping for the best! Waiting for baseballs during batting practice an hour or so before game time.
