Last night when we were out on the back porch grilling with the family, our next door neighbor blew his air horn and pulled out of his driveway for his second trip in his new Coachman motor home. As I was checking the local news sites late in the evening, I noticed a story about a highway outside of Anderson being closed due to a serious RV wreck- I opened the page, and checked the video, and kind of shook, since it did not look like to me that anyone could survive the horrible accident. Then, I scrolled down and discovered to my absolute shock that the driver was our next door neighbor and his wife. Ken said he avoided a deer that had run out in front of him, ran off the road, overcorrected, and spun several times along the guardrail. The coach was way beyond a total loss.
We were able to go over this morning around 9 or so, and we were able to see the Kirks. Ken has six stitches in his head, and bumps and bruises, and Tammy is understandably visibly shaken. Their three dogs who were onboard survived without incident it seems. Tammy was riding on the couch when the vehicle overturned several times. We are indeed fortunate to have them both still with us. They say they will be motorhoming again shortly!
You should be able to see the video by clicking on the link, then opening the video.
