SpringPoint Lighthouse, Portland Harbor Maine

After visiting Portland Head light, we drove about 4 miles into town to the Spring Point Ledge lighthouse, which is pretty much right in the middle of Casco Bay in Portland. Cooper had fun hanging out on the slide waiting to head out to the light, which is located as you can see on a concrete walkway.
This shot didn't load in sequence, and is a shot of two of the three gals who were trying hard to go fishing off the end of the jetty. They did manage to catch a few smelts, but then kept snagging their gear.

As always, Cooper was happy to help the fisherladies with their catch, and was determined to show us he could handle a fish.

This shows the walk out to the light, which was by no means easy! The wind was blowing, it was raining, and the rocks were randomly laid. I'm sure there had been several rescues for snapped ankles and other broken bones by falls on the rocks.

Pretty sure the island in the back is Peaks Island, which is the island we rode the ferry to the other day. The open ocean is to the right. Truly a beautiful place to visit.
